Information on DLC #1 - Castithan Charge Pack
The first DLC for Defiance released August 20, 2013 for $10, it was also included as part of the Season Pass.
It offered:
- New playable race
- New story missions and game mode.
- New weapon types.
- New game mode.
- New arkfall.
Content also arrived in the DLC patch that is available to all players.
Information has been steadily leaking from Trion over their first DLC for Defiance. Pictured above is the new Castithan playable race with the new Charge Blades and Charge Sniper Rifles.
Paid Content
The following features are tabled to be released for those who buy the DLC.
- Access to play the Castithan Species
- Access to a new Story Mission Line with new Battle Arena Game Mode
- Access to the new Castithan Battle Arenas
- Castithan Charge Blade & Ceremonial Mask as a reward from Story Mission Line
- A unique version of the Raptor, a new 4 player truck of doom
- A unique Castithan version of an outfit
- A Charge Weapons Starter Pack
- Access to New Pursuits
- New Xbox and PS3 Trophies and Achievements
- One time option for a single character to have their appearance change, name change, and species changed * (Added July 19)
Free Content
The following features are tabled to be released for everyone.
- Access to the new Charge Weapons Class and Castithan Blades
- Access to Sieges, a new Open World Game Mode
- Access to the new Monolith Major Arkfall
- Access to a new PvP Map - Military Academy
- Join a friend into the Battle Arenas Game Mode
- Duel your friends and neighbors in the Duels Game Mode
- Enemies, lockboxes, and events can drop Charge Weapons
- Select a new voice for you character
- Multitude of game improvements from UI to content
Store Items
The following features are tabled to be released for the store only.
- New Mods that tint the color of your Castithan Blade
- Lockboxes have a chance to get Charge Weapons
- More versions of the Raptor, the new 4 player truck of doomed compensation
- Character Customization changes: Appearance change, name change, or everything change

Timeline
- Announced May 9, 2013.
- Moved back to end of July 2013 after the Replay One Episode.
- In the latest Producers Letter the date was pushed back to August.
- August 13 it was announced it was being released August 20.

Since my purchase of this dlc my pursuits are Unobtainable no matter how many times I achieve silver in vehicle pursuits it restarts at 4 as if I'd not done them my 2nd char which I made my cast char is able to be used as storage only otherwise my system hardfreezes if u could fix this it'd be great. Glitches char is genbloodwolf2 and genbloodwolf can't keep the silver vehicle rewards (lol much less the 3 gold I've gotten )

I don't know about equipping it, since I don't own one. You can still earn Thorn Liro reputation if someone takes you to an Arena, but you can't interact with the vendor at Diablo Lighthouse. Actually I didn't know about the T4 chance (I never bought one, I'm completely free to play player, so I can't get enough keys to buy without Bits.)

Sadly they "patched" the access to the charge blades for free to play players, we can't interact with the Thorn Liro vendor anymore, I think you should update this page with this info.
Thanks for the note, did they block people from equipping them or just obtaining reputation to use on the vendor? As far as I know they are still a very low drop chance from T4 boxes.

Sadly they "patched" the access to the charge blades for free to play players, we can't interact with the Thorn Liro vendor anymore, I think you should update this page with this info.

So sieges are kinda like Rift, where periodically hordes of enemies would rush NPC hubs. I used to call that "Alamo mode" cause it always looked really bleak for the players, even when you pulled it off.
My first siege, I'm going to Headlands. Only one way in, thus MUCH easier to defend.

I like the way they split it down between paid stuff from the dlc, free stuff from the dlc and store items, something for everyone.

This right here? EXACTLY why I got the season pass. I hope the charge blade doesn't replace your normal melee; I really don't like hitting the R3 to hit something.
And look at all the NEW! New appearance, new arkfalls,new pursuits, new vehicles......I'll take "YES, PLEASE!" for $10, Alex.
