Ammo

You can only carry a limited amount of ammunition at a time. The type of ammunition that a weapon uses is determined by weapon type and some weapon types share ammunition. Current amount of ammunition carried can be seen under Stats screen.

Types

There are 7 types types of ammunition in Defiance:

Note: BMGs and grenades does not use ammo; BMGs are charged upon reloading.

Restock

To restore ammunition you can kill enemies and run over the dropped icons.

Visit an ammo crate near the Fast Travel or Extraction points, hold E to interact until the timer is completed.

Ammo Spike

These items can be purchased from a Supplies Vendor and allows you to drop a totem on the ground which restores ammo to every friendly player in range for a limited duration.

Note: In a co-op maps final boss stage ammo crates are replaced by icons on the ground which you can press E to instantly fill your ammo.

Note: If your weapon is empty, you can restock your ammo, reload your weapon, and restock your ammo again.

Limits

You can carry the following amount of ammunition at max plus the amount you currently have in your weapon's magazine. The amount of ammo carried is reduced in competitive play.

Something else should be added: that the ammo cap (incorrectly) DOES NOT include what's in the current clip right now due to the "bug fix", even though it suggests it should - changing loadouts will set this straight by removing a clip's worth of ammo, and ammo refills will pickup but not add more to this "ghost clip". Basically they fixed it the wrong way. :L

Also it might be good to note that the "charge weapons" sub-class keeps to the same ammo limits as the class it's listed (eg charge pistols are considered pistols in most aspects).
