The Dark Matter Extraction Force major arkfall usually refered to as "Monolith" or "DM Major" is one of the most challenging encounters of the game. It is a major arkfall and appears in the open world and will take a coordinated group of players to bring it down.

Incursions were added in DLC#3 - 7th Legion and are zone events similar to major arkfalls. They feature a chain of emergencies culminating in a siege. It is represented on the map with a yellow radiation symbol.

Conflict Sites are repeatable main mission story encounters which can be played with multiple ark hunters. Certain conflict sites will require the mission to be completed before they are available for play.

Co-operative maps feature a group of 4 ark hunters teaming up to complete a mission against enemy NPCs. They feature cutscenes, pursuits, data recorders and boss enemies.

Challenges are single player minigames that can be found around the map. There are currently three types of challenges available which reward a small amount of experience, scrip, ark salvage and sometimes mod caches.
